April Book Haul & First Line Feature:

I want to start out by saying I had a terrible reading month. I only read one book. I will just add it to my May Wrap Up. Now on to the fun part! I have 11 books to share with you. Let's get started : )

Click on the titles to go to their Goodreads' page

I'm going to a book signing this month and she will be there, so I decided to pick this up.
"Earlier that morning, Petra Kronos had woken up to the tick tick tick of metal." -The Cabinet of Wonders

I've heard a lot of good things about Christopher Moore and his humorous writing, so I'm excited to find out for myself. "Charlie Asher walked the Earth like an ant walks on the surface of water, as if the slightest misstep might send him plummeting through the surface to be sucked to the depths below." -A Dirty Job

Unearthly is the first book in a young adult trilogy about angels. "The first time, November 6 to be exact, I wake up at two a.m. with a tingling in my head like tiny field dancing behind my eyes."- Unearthly

Another book for the book signing. I don't know too much about this book, but I have seen some pretty good reviews. "My first day back at Lakewood High seemed innocent enough." -The Shadow Society

These books are part of a series about mermaids. I have never read a mermaids book before, so I'm nervous. I hope they are great. Anna Banks will also be at the book signing. "I smack into him as if shoved from behind." -Of Poseidon

Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by David Levithan & Rachel Cohn
I have read David Levithan before, and I enjoyed his writing style. Dash & Lily's Book of Dares is a winter contemporary read. "Imagine this: You're in your favourite bookstore, scanning the shelves." - Dash & Lily's Book of Dares

Suicide is an epidemic. If you seem unstable then you are sent to The Program. It seems like a fast-paced story with a little bit of romance mixed in. "The air in the room tastes sterile." -The Program

Across The Universe by Beth Revis
Across The Universe is the first book in an young adult sci-fi trilogy. Amy is frozen on a spaceship when she is woken up 50 years before she is supposed to be. She almost died. Who woke her up? Why did they wake her up? I'm excited to find out. "Daddy said, "Let Mom go first." -Across the Universe

I don't know what this series is about so I will share what the back of DOSAB says. "She had been innocent once, a little girl playing with feathers on the floor of a devil's lair. She wasn't innocent now...." What?! I must read ASAP! "Walking to school over the snow-muffled cobbles, Karou had no sinister premonition about the day." -Daughter of Smoke and Bone

Until Next Time,

Top 5 Wenesday:

Top 5 Wednesday (#T5W) is a weekly meme that was created by Lainey @ GingerReadsLainey. She has an awesome booktube channel. You should go check out her videos on Youtube. Lainey created a Goodreads page for "#T5Wednesdayers." Click here to check out everyone who participates on their blogs and/or their youtube channel. This weeks topic is Top 5 Fictional Technologies. Let's get started.

Top 5 Fictional Technologies:

(In no particular order)

5. The Games from The Hunger Games
They are slammed packed full of craziness. I love how they can control everything right from a computer.

4. The Fearscapes in Divergent
It is so interesting how they can watch the actual thing on a screen. They get to see how you react to some of your biggest fears.

3. A Steel from The Mortal Instruments Series
The steel can put a rune on your skin, and you can become whatever symbol you draw. For example, invisible or stronger.

2. Androids from The Lunar Chronicles Series
These androids are so complex they can actually have a personality (well it's a personality chip, but hey it's a personality). I love Iko from Cinder. She is Cinder's best friend, and my favourite character.

1. Rebooting from Reboot
Doctors are able to bring the dead back to life. I'm not talking about slow, sluggish corpses, Reboots are soldiers who are trained killers. I want to know how the doctors do it. This book is awesome. The sequel is coming out soon.

Until next time,
Bre
